Metro Man & Metro Home

By PK Greenfield

Growing up during a time when the male skin care regimen was predominantly left to the residue of bar soap, and “sun bathing” was not only encouraged but accelerated with a combination of iodine and baby oil, it wasn’t until adulthood that the epidermis sirens and alarms went off in my head.
What were we thinking!?

Some damage may be done but the bottom line is, it’s never too late to change and make an effort to keep our skin healthy and protected.

Men’s skin care products used to be scarce and futile, but today we have many choices. I discovered OM4: Organic Male Skin Care 4 Men of The World recently.

I was immediately interested in this product for two reasons, #1 the ingredients are organic and #2 there are 4 steps that only take 4 minutes to complete.

Step 1: Wash — Made from Oregon Grape, Red Raspberry and Alfalfa.
Step 2: pH Balancer — Alcohol-free toner.
Step 3: Antioxidant Serum — Helps skin look more youthful.
Step 4: Hydration Complex — Moisturizer.

It’s true. The process is quick, easy and after only two weeks of using this system, my skin is already looking better and healthier. I tried the ‘Travel Starter Kit’ and that made it so much more convenient to use and sustain the regimen.

While we’re on the subject of skin…

Give them your tired, your poor, your aching feetOM4’s Treat

I know that foot care is not a pleasant topic but someone has to take a stand; suffering from dry feet and athlete’s foot are common conditions among men. Between the gym, the basketball court, the beach, swimming pool or traveling the globe, it’s bound to happen: dry heels, calluses or worst of all, fungus. Just in time for summer, OM4 adds a new product to their line of skin care: Treat — Healing Herbal Antifungal Foot Treatment. This product is as necessary as antiperspirant for active men.

We need to crush the cosmetic stereotypes and start taking skin care seriously. From scalp to toe, it’s our responsibility to maintain a vibrant and healthy epidermis. Guarding your feet against infection is as important as applying sunscreen on your face and exposed limbs before heading outdoors — and not just to the beach or golf coarse. Every day.

Perhaps the only thing more annoying than contracting athlete’s foot is enduring the smell of the sprays and ointments that are on the market to cure it, but now we have a product that truly isn’t like the rest. OM4’s Treat smells clean, fresh and herbal as opposed to medicinal, and it’s also FDA certified organic. The lotion not only acts as a healing agent, but also as a preventative measure with active properties including lavender, black walnut, goldenseal and calendula. It’s made in the U.S.A. — that’s important to me, as I try to buy everything domestically.

We might think that we are tough but melanoma and skin afflictions are not macho or cool, and rough should only be acceptable when we are talking about sandpaper grains.
