Trust me, Spring Break is no longer just for college students. I’ve been doing the research and hitting the road to discover that more families, couples and single adults take advantage of the seasonal rates and travel options. This month I’m featuring a few hot tips and products for all men on the go, in the air or sailing the high seas. Following are the top picks with Pacific Shaving Co., Everyday California, Norwegian Cruise Line, Zirh, Native, Mouth Watchers and Oregami Luggage.
#7: I’ve been a fan of Zirh for many years now. One of my favorite products from their vast line of grooming and hygiene products for men is their Clean Alpha-hydroxy Face Wash. I packed it in my check-in luggage and it almost destroyed my entire wardrobe.
Here is my tip: Luckily, I put it in a zip-lock baggy along with my sunscreen, cologne and hair products. The Zirh Face Wash opened itself and completely emptied the entire 8.5 fl. oz. Due to the fact that I packed with plastic baggies (always bring extras), I was able to clean up my other products and salvage the face wash without ruining my clothing.
My face and language remained clean!

#6: For guys who are trying to go all natural these days, I recently tested Native Deodorant while traveling on the Atlantic Ocean. Native is targeting this new market of health and environmentally conscientious men with ingredients like arrowroot powder, which is a powerful and natural absorbent. I tried it and it works probably better than most chemicals. I am now a fan of their Eucalyptus and Mint stick — just released this month. All guys should toss one in their carry-on. Made in San Francisco, I remained high and dry like a memory of Haight Ashbury. Try it!

#5: Guys, it’s time for a new brush! You should replace your toothbrush every several months and I discovered one of the best brands for travel. Mouth Watchers makes a collapsible one that not only makes it convenient to pack but also protects the brush head from being exposed to germs and bacteria. It comes with new flossing bristles that will help keep your fangs healthy and as bright as the sunshine you seek — it works and travels brilliantly.

#4: I can’t count how many times I hit the road and left behind a can of shaving cream. I always ended up shaving poorly with bar soap or spending more money for any brand that I could find at a hotel, resort or airport. Pacific Shaving Company makes single-use minis — an easy and smart way to get a clean shave when traveling (or any time). The small pouches completely dissolve in the palm of your hand creating a rich lather. Pop a few in your shaving kit or take along the entire bag like I did with it’s resealable zipper top. These really came in handy on a recent business trip.

#3: Everyday California offers the perfect laid-back line of clothing for guys seeking warmer climates this Spring. I’ve noticed that East Coast guys are popping up on the streets and in the parks wearing this casual and comfortable line of clothing crafted in La Jolla, CA. I had to discover more about them. Operated by managing partners Christopher Lynch and Michael Samer, the company offers guided kayak tours of the La Jolla Ecological reserve, along with surfboard, paddleboard, kayak and snorkel rentals. If you want to hit the beach, climb a mountain or surf and get active, this is the best recommendation for warm days and cool nights. My favorites are the Monica and the Jetty (above).

#2: The most impressive travel luggage I’ve encountered recently is called Oregami. Their travel bags are simply the best in engineering and design especially for men who want to travel quickly with a compact case. I fit more clothing and possessions in the three (detatchable) organized compartments than I ever had in any traditional large two compartment suitcase — it’s like magic. The wheels are durable and rotate for easy navigation thru lines, ports and walkways. It makes packing much more organized according to your wardrobe.

#1: It’s not too late to book a Spring/Summer Cruise out of Manhattan. I recommend that you look into Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) that launches from the Hudson River in midtown. The convenience alone for people in the tri-state area gains exceptional marks in my consideration for ease, convenience, affordability and a whole shipload of fun. This month, we feature their Latitude’s Program that offers passengers many perks for sailing with them.
Here is my tip: If you want freestyle sailing, which means you choose what to do and when you want to do anything including eating, drinking, gambling, swimming, etc., this is your ticket to sail.
