Metro Mama & Metro Baby

By Stephanie Ila Silver-Silberstein

Now through April 28th, A (Tooth) Fairy Tale is bringing laughter, music and valuable life-long messages into the hearts and minds of our sweet-toothed children. The Vital Theatre Company, which has been producing professional theatre for young audiences since 1999, will have audiences grinning wide toothy smiles with this latest production. The musical’s clever book is by Ben H. Winters and the catchy, upbeat music and lyrics are by Rick Hip-Flores.

A (Tooth) Fairy Tale, directed by Linda Ames Key, is entertaining fun for the whole family and the content is suitable for ages 2 and up (though obviously kids who are about to lose their first tooth will certainly appreciate this timely show). This delightful musical centers on none other than the Tooth Fairy, who is ready for a vacation! Luckily, she meets a kid named Samuel who is sick and tired of being a kid, and all the rules that go with it. But when Samuel and the Tooth Fairy arrange to switch places for a little while, nothing goes exactly as planned. This wild, silly adventure is filled with shiny quarters, sugary candy, and learning who you’re really meant to be. Like all Vital Theatre productions, A (Tooth) Fairy Tale features top-notch talent and the perfect introduction to the professional theatre New York City is known for.

Kids will enjoy getting autographs and pictures with each cast member after the show and there are snacks and souvenir gifts sold in the lobby. Performances of A (Tooth) Fairy Tale are held at the Vital Theatre’s McGinn/Cazale Theatre located on Broadway and 76th Street.
