Disney’s The Little Mermaid is making a splash on Broadway this month, with previews beginning in early November. Children will love this classic fairly tale that originated with lauded storyteller Hans Christian Andersen, and is now set to music.

The show features Sierra Boggess as Ariel, Sean Palmer as Prince Eric, Norm Lewis as King Triton, and Tituss Burgess as Sebastian.The setting is a magical underwater kingdom, where a young mermaid named Ariel yearns to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father, the king of the sea, escape the clutches of an evil sea witch and convince a handsome prince that she’s the girl with the perfect voice.

Little ones will revel in the dramatic fanfare of this Disney offering. Francesca Zambello directs, and classic songs will include “Part of Your World,” “Kiss the Girl” and “Under the Sea.” This musical debuts 11 new songs that will most likely mesmerize all children.

The Little Mermaid is showing at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre at 205 West 46th Street. Go ahead – treat the kids for the holidays. Tickets range from $41.50-$111.50 and are available at Ticketmaster.
