With every change of season, your child outgrows more clothes and seems to wake up curiously taller each morning. Outfit your little ones with panache when they return to school. We know moms wonder what’s new for fall at The Children’s Place, so here’s what we unearthed:
For boys, the look is plaid-meets-skateboarding chic. For example, button down gray vests are paired with plaid shirts and muted pants or shorts, and topped off with a flight jacket. Or, vests are paired with bright funky graphic tees and plaid shorts (and no doubt some boys will eschew the vest altogether). Footwear options are easy slip-ons, or boat shoes, flight boots and brown lace-up boots for running amuck in the hallways.
For girls, this fall’s style has a retro, early-‘80s feel with denim jackets paired with frilly skirts and headbands, or layered dresses with fedora hats. Hoodies, jeans, dazzle rockstar sneakers (studded with fake gemstones) and skinny jeans with peace signs are all part of the back-to-school picture for girls. Ballet flats are still a practical option, and The Children’s Place has them in sparking silver for mesmerizing classmates.
