Metro Mama & Metro Baby

By Stephanie Ila Silver-Silberstein

Now through April 22nd, StinkyKids the Musical is bringing laughter, music and valuable life-long messages into the hearts and minds of our own little stinkers. The Vital Theatre Company, which has been producing professional theatre for young audiences since 1999, hits yet another home run with this latest production. Based on the award winning StinkyKids® books by Britt Menzies, the musical’s clever book and lyrics are written by Sammy Buck with catchy, upbeat music by Daniel S. Acquisto.

StinkyKids the Musical is entertaining fun for the whole family and the content is suitable for ages 2 and up (actually, even younger toddlers will find it riveting and stay put in their seats for the full hour running time). The plot revolves around StinkyKid Britt who never gets in trouble and loves making everyone happy! She’s convinced her parents to take her friends Max, Hannah, Jen, Johnny, and Billy to the opening of the new MegaJumper 3000. But when Britt gets a massive wad of gum stuck in her hair, she must rely on her friends to help her get out of the sticky situation before her parents find out and cancel the trip! In turn, Britt and her “little stinKer” friends must learn to make the right choices through their childhood mistakes and live by the motto “Always be a leader of good.”

Kids will enjoy getting autographs and pictures with each cast member after the show and there are snacks and souvenir gifts sold in the lobby. Performances of StinkyKids the Musical are held at the Vital Theatre’s McGinn/Cazale Theatre.
