I love receiving catalogs in the mail, which I know doesn’t make me a friend of the environment. It’s a guilty pleasure, leafing through the pages, looking at items that I don’t need. It’s a lazy way to get my dose of window shopping, without actually having to leave my home.
Yesterday my mailbox offered a new catalog, one that I haven’t received before. It’s from a company called Paper Source (http://www.paper-source.com) and if you’re a Brooklynite, you may have stopped by their store located at 102 Smith Street.
Paper Source gave me great ideas for Mother’s Day gifts, just in time for May. And it seemed that all the products I liked are bird themed! There is the cutest Owl Lavender Hand Cream which comes in an animated colorful container. Match it with the set of 2 Owl Lip Balm which are mini-pots of mint and lavender. And round up the theme with an adorable Owl Soap On A Rope. They’re all a hoot! (sorry, couldn’t resist the pun)
To get Mom humming, get her the Hummimgbird Water Bottle. Instead of chilling water or milk in the fridge in a plastic bottle, use this safe non-chemical leaching glass bottle instead. And it would look beautiful on any table setting as well. Match it with the Dahlia Tray, perfect for entertaining with its Welcome design. Who wouldn’t want milk and cookies served with these whimsical items?
For morning coffee, the Believe Mug is perfect with its images of handcrafted papercuts. Designed by British artist Rob Ryan – known for his papercuts – the sweet mug has playful birds surrounding the mantra “Believe in People.”
