St Patrick’s Day is March 17th, a day for all things Irish and green. In New York City the St Patrick’s Day Parade starts on 5th Avenue at 44th Street at 11am. It marches past St. Patrick’s Cathedral (of course!) past the American the Irish Historical Society at 83rd, where the Parade ends, about 3pm.

In honor of the patron saint of Ireland, this Parade is said to be largest and the oldest in the United States. The first parade was held in 1762, by a band of homesick Irish ex-patriots and Irish military serving with the British Army stationed in the American colonies in New York City.

On this day everyone is Irish!

If Shamrocks and “Kiss Me I’m Irish” logos are not your style, then you should pay tribute to the day a little differently, and do it with panache! Watch the parade with your pooch, wearing more than your share of sparkling accessories.

Visit Dog Collar Fancy at http://www.dogcollarfancy.com for a vast assortment of green baubles for your discerning puppy. You’ll be mesmerized by the collars – sparklers ranging from peridot, rhinestones, to multi-faceted crystals. What’s lovely about the site is that you can custom order the width of the collar, from 3/8 inch for a cat or a teacup dog, to 2 inch for the bigger dog. And there are collar sizes from 5 to 27 inches. Even the buckles can be customized to show off the bling!

Need a little more frosting? Then you have to get one of the new fabulous leashes called appropriately FabuLeash (http://www.fabuleash.com). Made from acrylic beads, these leashes look like dainty necklaces, but apparently can withstand 100 lbs of pull force. Available in a rainbow of colors, the emerald, olivine or peridot crystal leashes would be perfect for March. Pick one up from their website or from 20 West 37th Street, 8th Floor. NY, NY. Ph: 888-842-7469.

For the cutest St Pat’s dog barrette, check out Sassy Pup (http://www.sassypup.net). These dog bows are hand sewn and adorned with beads, attached to two quality elastic grooming band for attachment to puppy’s topknot. Any Maltese, Yorkie or Pekingnese would love one.

So on March 17th, go green and stylish!
