Natural Living

By Irene Fogarty

I’m not a morning person. Never was, never will be. The sound of an alarm physically upsets me. It takes me ’bout half an hour to realize who I am, where I am and what I need to do: I’m a mess. But now that I’m my own boss, and still have to do my taxes, I have to be more on my toes. So I find the shower is the place to help me remember everything and get my head together. And what better place than the shower to think about the day ahead, to baptize yourself for upcoming events. So the following products are undoubtedly my favorites because of their organic goodness and because get me up and ready for the day without anything harmful or unnatural.

Wake up tired skin, energize your mind and get morning glory with Kimberly Sayers’ All-In-One Invigorating Lemon Scrub. Here’s one morning tradition that I have started to do religiously: I use Kimberly Sayer’s new all-in-one lemon scrub for face and body. It’s invigorating, soft and creamy and reminds me of key lime pie. But the best thing is it’s not artificially scented; it’s a mousse of all natural goodies like Asian lemon tree Oil, to balance your skin’s pH and even skin tone.

This dual purpose scrub also contains organic jojoba beads and oat beta glucan to gently open clogged pores and emulsify sebum; sea algae extract to detoxify skin; Chinese litsea cubeba oil to tone and cleanse the skin; Mediterranean Cypress Oil to purify and revive and grapefruit seed extract to help detoxify and balance. Wow!

But the thing I really love about it? You can use it on your face and your body. That’s a first for me. I have never ever used a body exfoliator on my face–they’re usually too harsh and abrasive. This one is perfect. For your face, just use a small dime size amount on tepid damp skin and massage in gently. For body, massage about 3 tablespoons into skin (décolleté, stomach, thighs, legs, knees, heels, arms, everywhere) and remove with warm water. For very dry skin, you can use it twice a week. I use it every day I have to get up! Because with a zesty, citrusy scent like this, I feel more awake after my shower than when I first woke up. And that’s without a sip of coffee.

So now that I have you wide awake and invigorated in the morning, why not use that post-shower time to eliminate cellulite? No I don’t mean get down on the cold bathroom tiles and do glutes. All you need do is apply Kimberly Sayer’s Slimming & Contouring Lotion.

Gentle and chemical free, this light lotion contains the finest, steam distilled organic ingredients like pure plant oils and extracts based on the theories of ancient apothecaries.

Here’s what’s in it and why it works:

- Silanol C: an organic plant-derived Silica which opposes the storage of unsaturated fatty acids and creates tone and elasticity in the connective tissue.

- Gota Kola (leaf from Madagascar) feed the skin’s connective tissue — providing both anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits

- Ivy extract to diminish cellulite

- Hawaiian Sea Algae providing valuable nutrients to the skin and enhancing its ability to hold moisture

- Geranium Oil to help strengthen connective tissue

- Lemongrass oil to tone and tighten the skin

- Orange oil to tone, purify and hydrate the skin and internal systems

- Lavender oil to balance, hydrate and restore the skin while calming the nervous system

How to apply:
Just apply a dime-sized amount to fingertips and rub gently and thoroughly using a circular motion on problem areas. Use daily until you experience desired results. Continue use once or twice a week to maintain results. What’s really refreshing about this lotion is that it smells so natural compared to any other anti-cellulite serums that I’ve ever tried. They usually have a weird chemical smell that has a weird consistency that doesn’t absorb into your skin. Not KS’s formula.

I’ve never been one to believe that a single lotion can diminish cellulite altogether – I don’t think it can. But I do have to admit along with regular exercise, and good health habits, this stuff works. You will see a difference.
It does minimize the appearance of cellulite and provides an instant firming and tightening effect. You can use it everywhere: on cellulite, stretch marks and sagging skin on hips, thighs and anywhere you want. It’s Ideal for use after pregnancy and extreme weight loss.

So drop into any Whole Foods store now and grab both of these products. Kimberly Sayer products have a new look this season. They’re as gorgeous on the outside as the inside ingredients are. (Nice job on the new look, Kimberly!) So don’t be surprised if these babies fly off the WF shelves this summer. Remember you heard about it here first!
