As an all natural girl, I have never fallen victim to “pout envy.” Those bee-stung, Angelina-esque bouches that women are willing to get injections for just don’t move me to try plumping up my own pucker. My philosophy is: we should be a little more concerned with treating what we already have right and be thankful. After all, it’s what comes out of our mouth that really says something about who we are.
With that in mind, I’d like to talk about a cool Brooklyn lip balm company called Crazy Rumors that can promise you one thing — the smoothest, softest, all natural lips in town. In cute tins and tubes, these delicious, all natural treats for your lips nourish, moisturize and heal lips without any addictive (no beeswax) ingredients. Unlike sticky lip-gloss, you can wear it everyday for a naturally moist look. And if for some reason you forgot to apply SPF to your lips while out in the sun, use Crazy Rumors to restore their natural moisture and softness. In a few seconds you can feel the difference.
So who are these Crazy Rumors people and how did it all start? Very simply, really. Two buds living in Brooklyn who took one of their sketchpad brainstorming ideas to the next level and have never looked back. Brian Himmel and Edie Sherman, a creative young couple and best friends, share a passion for organics and so created something innovative, refreshing and small enough that they could control themselves. (Personally, I think they’re going to be huge simply because they have created such a small product that makes a big difference…and like them, it’s full of personality.)
What I love about Crazy Rumors lip balms is that they’re so natural. Take a look at the mouth-watering ingredients: Jojoba Oil, Shea Butter, Candelilla Wax, Soy Wax, Olive Oil, Avocado Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Vitamin E, Carnauba Wax, Mica, Natural Flavors and Stevia. These ingredients are also vegan friendly. For just $4.00 you can get either a cute old-fashioned tin, or a tube. Either way, it will last you for months.
Since Crazy Rumors first came up in conversation over a cup of coffee in 2002, Edie and Brian decided to make a coffee-inspired flavor line. Perk is a great way to start the day. I love the fact that I can put it on in the morning and it reminds me of coffee even when I’m trying to cut back. It’s chockfull of vitamins and the Mocha taste is heavenly…the perfect java lip jolt for softer, well-nourished lips.
There are 6 flavors to quench your coffee crave: Mocha, Amaretto, French Vanilla, Coffee Bean, Hazelnut, and Irish Cream.
And if coffee isn’t your cup of tea, try the Brew. This “tea time for your lips” indulgence is really exotic. With flavors like Apple Spice and Orange Bergamot, it’s like getting a sip of rejuvenating tea for super supple lips. Other Brew balms flavors include: Peppermint Lemongrass, Spiced Chai, Ginger Peach and Plum Apricot. In addition to the beneficial ingredients, there’s the incredibly unique aroma (for lip balms, that is) of such spices as ginger, peppermint, citrus fruits, spiced cardamom and cinnamon.
Finally, having recently met the delightful pair (Edie and Brian) at our BeautyNewsNYC third Anniversary party, I have to say they really live up to their motto of “naturally fun” people. Like their products, they have a good, all natural energy about them. Just take a look at their wonderful site (crazyrumors.com) and you can tell they don’t take themselves too seriously. As they say, their products offer the exceptional benefits of naturally derived ingredients, fuse fresh and unique concepts, and are fun. Because who says natural can’t be fun? Couldn’t have said it better myself!
Crazy Rumors have 12 amazing and exotic coffee and tea flavors to choose from, available in convenient to carry .15 oz tubes and .25 oz tins. CR lip balms are all over the city from Ricky’s to Health Nuts, to the Pearl River Store, and tons of places in Brooklyn too.
Go to their store locator and check it out for yourself. For more info about Crazy Rumors and their upcoming products, go to CrazyRumors.com.
