We asked our resident cosmetics expert and makeup artist, editor Erin Williams, what her favorite lipstick is and why. Here’s what she said:

“Just one? Well, I really like Paula Dorf for her variety of colors and finishes from sheer to opaque. I find them to be really wearable and they feel great on the lips; not too drying.

Lola is my favorite for reds because there are about six of them, and there’s sure to be the “right red” in the bunch. I also like Sue Devitt for more mattes and Chantecaille for more sheers. Sorry to pick more than one – I’m a junkie – like Lay’s chips, we can’t have just one!”
