The Height of Comfort

By Rebecca Goldberg

Next time you go to a party you will see her—the woman who can’t take another second in her high heels and dances from one leg to the other. There is also the classic flats switch, which usually occurs near elevators, inside bathrooms, and outside where the streets dissect the avenues. We can all relate.

Samantha Bryan feels your pain. In fact, the Australian native and founder of HEIRS & GRACE has created an answer with her line of foot friendly heels.

Hoping to give women the perfect balance of fit, flexibility, cushioning, wearability, and style, Bryan has finally brought her brand of practical fashion to the States. Though these elements sound pretty standard in a shoe, they take support to the next level and allow women who normally have problems with their feet a chance to stand tall. The secret, literally inside the shoe, is the in the PORON 4000 anti-shock (anti-Manhattan pavement) innersole. This is a serious insole—the same kind used in orthopedic shoes—but these shoes are funky and not frumpy. Additionally, shoes have a larger toe box and a tighter heel.

The collection includes Gwen, the signature “hug” boot, a lambswool knee-high zip boot, Cesca an ankle length lambswool zip hug boot, Minnie is a buckle up, high-heel, lambswool, and Mary Jane and Danny a buckle up suede Mary Jane. These shoes come in funky colors and sleek fits, so you can pound your tootsies on the dance floor while still being dressy enough for work.
