Skin Care

By Candice Sabatini

While the kids may have visions of a chubby guy in a red suit bringing them toys – us fashionista’s are more inclined to have visions of the perfect party dress dancing in our heads. You know, that sexy little number with the plunging neckline that gives a whole new meaning to the term sugar plums!

December is Diva Dress month and whether you’re going for the ‘two bald guys trying to escape from your neckline’ look, or a classier cleavage, you’ll still want them tata’s facing the North Pole!

Too many women forget about skin care below the chin and end up with a youthful face and an older looking neck and décolleté. The skin on the neck is thinner than facial skin. Though it’s highly elastic, it loses firmness with age and is less able to contract after stretching. Furthermore, furrows in neck skin are about three times deeper than those in facial skin, and neglecting this area will result in vertical fine creases as well as deeper and broader lines.

Don’t make it a resolution for 2008; start taking care of that delicate skin now so you can ring in the New Year without rings on your neck.

The AHA acid peel you use on your face can be too harsh for your neck. Dr. Denese Neck Saver Firming Pads contain a smaller percentage of glycolic acid and are easy to use by simply peeling off a pad from the top of the stack. Just one pad totally saturated my giraffe length neck. A jar of 60 pads will last 2-3 months and help refresh and revitalize with a few quick swipes!

Remember, while sunscreen is always important, it’s even more important after using a product with glycolic acid. http://www.qvc.com

Moisturize and support your delicate neck skin with Shiseido Benefiance Concentrated Neck Contour Treatment. Shiseido uses skin energizers, collagen reinforcers, brighteners and plant extracts to keep us looking like beautiful swans, and not like turkeys. Just a little coated my whole neck and smoothed the skin yet didn’t stick to my clothing or my silk scarves. Fine Department Stores, http://www.shiseido.com and http://www.nordstrom.com

Divine Decollete to die for…

Keep those girls looking eXTra perky with Cellbust-XT from Cellcosmet, one of the couture names in cosmeceutical skin care. The Swiss company uses luxury ingredients like marine extracts and seaweed along with daisy and rose hip oils which have a toning and firming effect to improve and define breast contours. Though pricey, this is for those that demand only the best and it becomes addictive once you’ve finished your first bottle. Fortunately, it’s a large pump bottle, so you won’t run out too quickly! To create a bustline that says, Ohh-La-La!! apply Lift Me Up Bust Cream by Sampar from Paris. Created with ingredients to protect skin from pollution, Sampar is for the “urban active” woman. Made from biopeptides, chestnut and walnut extracts, shea butter and vitamin E, this cream firms and tones the skin, helps prevent stretch marks and restores radiance.
