This freezing cold weather is making my skin sensitive and dry (global warming? yeah right!) I can’t use some of my usual anti-aging products because they feel harsh after a long walk home (new taxi surcharges are a killer, aren’t they!). My face is crying out for some TLC, but I still want active ingredients to keep my visage a vision of great skin. Brand new and just perfect for this weather is Juno Transformative Lipid Serum by Sunday Riley. Absolutely the new BFF for those with normal to dry skin, this fast absorbing light oil contains argan oil, natural retinol, amino acids, vitamin C, and Omega 3,6 & 9, created from the seeds of plants such as blueberry, acai, grape, carrot, cranberry, and pomegranate, just to name a few. All Sunday Riley products are sourced from natural active ingredients and the company philosophy is based on “a perfect union between botanicals and biotechnology.” In the AM, I use right after washing my face, and in a few minutes it’s fully absorbed and I can put my makeup on as usual. In the PM it’s a great overnight treatment for face, neck and décolleté.

Luxurious and creamy is how I’d describe the new Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale Cream. Created after ten years of studying orchids and their anti-aging properties, the Guerlain scientists narrowed the search down to three which have tissue that has the ability to slow down the cellular aging process. This new formulation works its magic by stimulating the longevity gene which is then responsible for creating an anti-inflammatory protein, and by regenerating epidermal cells. Use this silky cream twice a day and within eight weeks, you’ll see some great looking skin that’s radiant, plump and gorgeous!

Don’t get confused by the new packaging, MD Skincare is now known as Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare. It’s the same great line of products that you’ve always loved, created by the one of New York’s favorite dermatologists. My “best pick” product continues to be the Alpha Beta Daily Face Peel with Retinol. This easy to travel with product is a cinch to use – open packet one and gently rub the pad all over your face. It’s saturated enough so that I include neck, décolleté and hands. Then wait two minutes and swipe the second pad over the same areas to neutralize. Easy peasy and gives skin a nice glow all day when used in the morning. Available: Sephora stores and http://www.dgskincare.com” http://www.dgskincare.com
So much of the aging of our skin comes from environmental stress. New from Yves Rocher, the venerable French Canadian skin care brand that’s always been wallet friendly is Cure Solutions, a new weapon to aid us in the fight against aging skin. Utilizing the Moringa tree – called “the miracle tree” in Africa where its leaves, fruit and seeds are used for healing – the Rocher scientists have isolated Moringa peptides which fight against skin oxidation. These products are suitable for women (and men) of all ages. Products include a mask, serum and moisturizer. Viva la peptide!
