Spa

By Jessa Moore

Stress is my mortal enemy. I combat it with all my being – and my favorite beauty treats. Especially ones I can play with in the bath, which is my winter sanctuary. If the product smells pretty, or has a roll feature, or leaves my skin nice and soft, I’m in. Baths are the perfect remedy for winter’s chill.

I think of that heavenly hot bath, steamily scented with the sweet scent of lavender by Thymes…and relax at the mere thought. Thymes Lavender Foaming Bath bubble bath is more sweet than sharp, contains violets, and leaves your skin soft and your mind care-free. You won’t want to get out of the bathtub! And it’s a foaming bath product that doesn’t irritate my insanely sensitive skin. I’m hoarding my bottle, as it gets me through the roughest of the rough days.

Another proven stress reliever is the bath bomb. Throw a sweet smelling bomb in your bath water and there’s no way you won’t play. You would have to be a total Grinch. A bath bomb fizzes and floats and smells great and is good for your skin, to top it all off. One Bath Fizzers in the Honey Please scent are sweet balls of fizz. I enjoyed chasing mine around the tub, and as a bonus: didn’t need perfume afterward.

Ahhh, the bliss of a massage… I splurge more than I should. I discovered the next best thing to a pro is Burt’s Bees Lemon and Vitamin E Bath & Body Oil. I used it in my bath, and the tangy scent made me smell like a lovely little pound cake. I also used it to give myself a soothing foot massage. It’s a wonder product that can be used as a light moisturizer, a massage oil, and bath oil. Now if I could only get someone to rub my back… I give my lovely little tootsies a rubdown after standing in heels all day, and can feel the tension seeping away from my body. I’m all about self-care right after the holidays. I like to add a little yoga breathing, Ommm…light a candle, and discover quiet moments of sheer happiness.
