Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Why not enjoy a sensual spa treatment with your loved one? The brand new Banyan CitiSPA in Soho is cranking up the sizzle in February, offering a spicy hot special for Valentine’s Day. You and your “sweetie” can get the party started by turning up the passion for your night of celebrating love.
My husband and I visited Banyan CitiSPA for a romantic treat. Upon our arrival, welcoming, friendly smiles greeted us. Fion, the receptionist, toured us around the facility, with an Asian flair décor, enhanced by lovely scents floating through the air. The flowers and candles, strewn throughout, gave a cozy and inviting feel.
We quickly found out that the area to change, shower, steam and sauna is co-ed. So, if you are at all modest, be aware of this detail. Everything has doors for privacy and there are small rooms for changing, but there is no separation of genders. It took a bit of getting used to at first, but my husband and I loved staying together and sharing a steam.
After steaming and showering, we stepped into the relaxation lounge where there were goodies abound. Fruit, both fresh and dried, nuts and a variety of beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) were available for the taking while “chillin'” on chaises.
After unwinding in the lounge for a while, our massage therapists, Jenny and Maggie, came to get us. They took us into a dimly lit room with two massage tables, aromatic candles, and soothing music – the perfect setup for a romantic massage. We were getting a luscious 90-minute Papaya Body Polish and melt away massage combination. The papaya has naturally occurring fruit acid, which gently removes the dead skin cells from the body. Jenny and Maggie began with the oil massage, later changing to the papaya scrub that had a delectable aroma. I absolutely loved the Papaya Polish treatment – it was wonderfully soothing. Just an F.Y.I, if you are at all sensitive to scrubs, this might not be the massage for you. My husband found it to be a little rough for his taste, but I, on the other hand, couldn’t get enough.
After the polish was complete, Jenny and Maggie wrapped us up in plastic and towels, which allowed our body heat to assist in the exfoliating benefit of the treatment, and boy, did it! After our shower, our skin was so supple, smooth and moist.
After showering, we popped back to the lounge, indulging ourselves with chocolate truffles, fruit, nuts and champagne.
A perfect Valentine’s Day treat is just a phone call away.
This decadent treatment is normally $160 per person, but couples can book now for only $295!
