Bachelorette party, mother-daughter getaway, destination wedding or romantic spa/casino mini-vaca: the Spa at Norwich Inn is the perfect place to unwind and reconnect. And the spa there is just the beginning. Located near Mystic, Connecticut, Foxwoods & Mohegan Sun Casinos and all the outlet and antique shopping your heart could desire, there’s literally something for every visitor to enjoy!
Leaving our adorable (but exhausting) children with our husbands and making the trek to Connecticut, my best friend and I took advantage of every minute of our one-night getaway. After checking into the Inn and resting for a bit in our charming room located in the main house, we made our way to the dining room.
The cuisine offered in the restaurant, Kensington’s, was delicious and beautifully presented. And though we could’ve taken note of the calorie counts and healthful eating advice written in the menu, we opted to indulge in a gourmet meal of amaretto shrimp, smoked cheddar and pear salads, seafood scampi and beef tenderloin. Be sure to save room for the best New England Clam Chowder ever and the yummy Molten Chocolate Cake for dessert – and ignore those calorie counts!
The next morning, we enjoyed an equally delightful breakfast of banana soy pancakes, crispy cinnamon French toast, fresh juices and a surprisingly yummy vanilla yogurt parfait. We then made our way to the spa for our much-anticipated treatments. The spa and Norwich is lovely and has all the necessities of a luxury spa, including an indoor pool, sun deck and hot tub. We both enjoyed our respective massages (i.e. prenatal for me, hot stone for my friend) and took advantage of all the amenities to help us get back on the road (and back to reality).
Although we didn’t have a chance to partake in the surrounding area’s bevy of activities, we still managed to relax and absorb the therapeutic benefits of being a guest at the Spa at Norwich Inn. From seasonally themed spa treatments and packages to condominium villas perfect for a girl’s weekend getaway, The Spa at Norwich Inn is a true classic when it comes to driving-distance-destination-spa-going.
