Spa

Womanhood is a full-time job at any age. We’re inundated with information (and pressure) to look our best, feel our best and be at our healthiest. We take Pilates, we get Botox, we diet, we shop, we’re hormonal…Now, wouldn’t it be nice if there were a place out there totally designed to lead women to overall health and wellness throughout the various stages of life? Well, tucked away on 83rd and Madison Avenue, there is such a place. It’s called Wellpath and you might just find yourself in a lifelong relationship with it.

I would describe Wellpath as a boutique spa designed to make you feel like you’re in your friend’s Manhattan townhouse. Although it is currently undergoing some renovation, the décor will remain somewhere between Hollywood glam and contemporary chic. 38 weeks pregnant and in desperate need of some pampering, I opted for the prenatal massage. My massage therapist, Tammy, set me up with some body pillows and performed the massage with me lying on my side the entire time (switching sides midway through). Not only is this the most comfortable position for members of the preggers population (actually, I may just want to get all of my future massages while in this position), but it allows the therapist to stretch the arms and place the legs in ways that maximizes the benefits of massage therapy.

Under one roof, you’ll find the knowledge of an accomplished physician with an expert staff. The founder of Wellpath, Dr. Jamé Heskett, is a family physician and mother of two. In her practice, Dr. Heskett integrates traditional Western medical training and state-of-the-art technology with natural medicine, homeopathy and nutrition.

Though she intentionally keeps her practice small to give maximum personal attention to her clients, you could get on the waiting list to consult with Dr. Heskett to develop a Comprehensive Wellness Plan (your personal pathway). She’ll design a Constitutional Homeopathic Remedy based on your concerns, lifestyle and health beliefs that is practical and applicable within your current lifestyle.

Up to date on all the latest FDA approved technology, Wellpath offers a variety of medical and spa-type services to help you attain total wellbeing. In addition to massage and reflexology, there’s a small Pilates studio with state-of-the-art equipment, Mesotherapy, VelaShape™ and Endermologie to combat cellulite, Photo Rejuvenation and Isolaz™ Laser Treatments to help with acne and other dermatological issues, IPL™ Hair Removal, Laser Treatment for Veins and BOTOX™ Cosmetic and Radiesse™ to fight the signs of aging.

Though it certainly qualifies as an Upper East Side neighborhood spa, it is no wonder why Wellpath has loyal clients trekking into the city from all over the tri-state area. The staff at Wellpath has the expertise to take you from high school graduation straight through to menopause and beyond.
