I had the pleasure of staying at the Helmsley Park Lane this summer, and my visit was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The staff is friendly, courteous and always helpful, the rooms are nicely appointed and feature modern amenities for those who need them – i.e., wired and wireless Internet connection as well as Plasma TVs – but the real star of this hotel is its views of Central Park.

My room was on the 25th floor facing the park, and featured a stunning panorama of mid-summer Central Park, as well as architectural icons in the distance – Tavern on the Green restaurant and The Dakota apartment building to the northwest.

The hotel offers elegant dining at The Park Room, with exceptional cuisine and sensational views of Central Park from The Park Room restaurant’s Executive Chef, Michael Hill.
There is also casual dining in The Garden Café, a beautifully landscaped open-air restaurant. It features a light menu of creatively prepared and presented selections, using fresh from market ingredients.

Located at 36 Central Park South, the Park Lane is a grand luxury 46-story hotel featuring classical ambience and service, coupled with new-world comfort and convenience. The décor reflects the grand European style, from the majestic ballroom to the intimate lobby. The hotel is just steps from Fifth Avenue shopping, Broadway theaters, Museum Mile, Radio City, and Lincoln Center.
