Madrid, a city that bustles with a vibrant cosmopolitan sensibility at night also offers the quaint and easygoing feel of any great European destination during the day. The energy of the city is truly infectious, with its late night dining, sunrise clubs and envious rooftop bar scene.  Not even in New York can you find so many locals (and expats) dining and drinking through the wee hours of the morning, regardless of age.

There is no better place to experience the city than along the teeming walkways of Gran Via, Madrid’s central hub for all things new, now and next. Perfectly situated along the lively street is Hotel De las Letras, a smart, stylish and art-filled hotel with slick contemporary interiors. The Small Luxury Hotels of the World affiliate is situated in the heart of Madrid.

The name Hotel De las Letras pays homage to the world of literature and to pictograms as the primeval elements of written language.

The building is included in the city’s heritage register and dates from 1917. It was created by architect Cesáreo Iradier as the home of the Count of Artaza, and was renovated for use as a hotel in 2005 by architects Virginia Figueras and Franco Corada.

Hotel De las Letras has a warm and ultra-comfortable feel. Each room has beautiful oak flooring, high ceilings and traditional wood windows that provide lots of natural light plus hand-woven rugs with exclusive designs. A number of rooms feature private terraces, balconies or galleries and each floor has its own colour scheme.

Indulge yourself with a stay in the hotel’s superior penthouse room or deluxe suites, each situated with a private terrace and Jacuzzis.  For more entertainment try the Bocablo lounge or Atico de Las Letras, the hotel’s rooftop bar with a bevy of delicious drinks, good music and a lively crowd. For a taste of Madrid, dine at the hotel’s famed Al Trapo Restaurant, presenting “Informal Haute Cuisine.” Chef Paco Morales presents dishes created with the technical exactitude of haute cuisine in harmony with the restaurant space, all of which comes at reasonable prices. It is an alluring and pleasant menu, broken down in to various “sensations or stations”, which allows you the freedom to select, combine or share dishes, ways of eating and flavours.

Spending the summer in Madrid? Stay at Hotel De las Letras, for a sensational urban experience. Whether you are looking to dance the night away or explore the city’s art and cultural offerings, Las Letras makes for the perfect summer escape.
