We all saw the video last week of Karen Klein, the 68 year old bus monitor who was abused relentlessly by the adolescents she ferries to and from school. We were moved to tears as her body wracked with sobs over the downright horrific name calling and insult hurling, as these children tore her down. Kids can be cruel, as they say, but this went a step beyond and our hearts went out to her.
We weren’t the only ones moved by this event. The Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa, Northwest Florida’s largest full-service beachfront resort, has swooped to offer Karen a fabulous, all expenses paid week in their Presidential Suite to convalesce in luxury from this terrible situation.
“Like all who have heard this story, the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa was deeply saddened by the treatment of Karen,’” said Gary Brielmayer, Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa general manager. “Our resort strives to create a memorable experience for all guests, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to offer Karen the time to recuperate from her experience.”
Karen will be flying down, courtesy of the Hilton Sandestin, first class for a nothing-but-first-class experience. While this may not make her forget the abuse she’s endured, at least it will let her know that she deserves the best. We all certainly agree!
