Oughton Limited’s Girth Purse

Even if I haven’t been on in a couple of years, I’ll always be a horseback rider at heart. So when I came across Oughton Limited’s collection of equestrian-inspired handbags and travel totes, I was instantly smitten – and have been carrying around their Girth Purse ever since.

Made of a waxed canvas and trimmed in bridle leather (which reaches under the bag’s belly, subtly mimicking a real girth), the first thing you may notice is that it has the heavenly, transporting smell of a well stocked tack room. Luckily, this bag (which sells for $295) also has a classic style and cool details (like myriad pockets inside and a splash of bright orange lining on the interior) that make it the consummate companion for any jaunt, whether country or city slicking. If you want to make a little more of a statement, there’s a version that replaces the canvas body with an Italian faux hair (known as the “Phony Pony,” retails for $330).

The Wellie Barn Tote

The line also features generously sized overnight bags, like the Wellie Barn Tote ($310), which is made of the same material as your beloved Wellies and has so much packing potential that I’m (almost) convinced I could fit in it if I tried.

With clean craftsmanship and sophisticated silhouettes, these bags would make a great gift this season, or at least having you holiday-hopping from home to home in style. See more styles or place your order at http://www.oughtonlimited.com.
