We continue our love affair with the bustling capital of Spain. A city that exudes passion and character, truly embracing Ernest Hemingway’s ode to the city, “Nobody goes to bed in Madrid until they have killed the night.”

It’s an emblematic reflection of the energetic allure that captivates travelers and locals alike. The mesmerizing city is one of contradictions: it’s beautiful & modern yet timeworn; it’s traditional yet impressively innovative; it’s laid-back and easy-going yet fast-paced and contemporary. These differences are what give the city its infectious charm and undeniable character. We outlined a few of our favorite places to dine, stay and dance in the always-vibrant Madrid.
Praktik Metropol Reception
We begin our Spanish escape with a chic and contemporary stay at Praktik Metropol, a modern, minimalist design hotel housed within a majestic marble and pale stone building on the iconic Gran Vía. This budget friendly boutique hotel, with rooms starting at €50, is teeming with character. The Praktik Metropol stands on Madrid’s Gran Vía, the so-called Broadway of Madrid. Standing in front of the fantastic marble and light stone building it is difficult not to feel as if you are in a Madrid version of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, with Madrid’s Gran Vía that combines cosmopolitan buildings of incomparable elegance and architectonic value with the most vibrant modernity.

The refurbishment and interior design of the Praktik Metropol in Madrid are the work of Lázaro Rosa-Violán and his team at Contemporain Studio. The hotel achieves the perfect combination of comfort and elegance throughout the décor and ambience of the hotel. The result is a quiet, comfortable and modern luxury, a design that invites you to the place you will always want to come back to. A welcoming reception, with gorgeous wood floors and sun-drenched guest rooms give an invigorating feel to your stay. Enjoy the covetable terrace located on the ninth floor: after a day walking around the city, lie back on the lounge chairs while gazing at an incredible panoramic view of the city.
