The cuisine won’t be the only thing tempting you at the Casanova

They say the fastest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, but women are just as wooed by a lovingly prepared meal. Unfortunately, both sexes are relying on to-go orders and pre-fab dinners to serve up some fast, cheap love these days. If you do it together, making a meal can be an aphrodisiac in itself – especially if it’s while participating in La Bouqeria Market Tour package at the seductive Casanova Hotel in Barcelona, Spain.

Fresh produce at La Bouqeria Market in Barcelona

Designed to be a private cooking lesson that begins in the market and ends at the table, couples embark on a private guided tour of La Bouqeria Market with the hotel’s Michelin pedigree chef, Jaume Brichs. Located on La Rambla, one of the most famous streets in Barcelona, the market offers huge varieties of fresh fruits, vegetables, cheese, meats and fish. Outside the market, the tree-lined street will lead lovers to a spectacular view of the harbor.

After the tour, it’s back to the hotel for an aperitif and private cooking class. Chef Brichs will help pair Spanish wines with the full lunch and then let couples linger over their creations (perhaps a dish similar to Brich’s tantalizing signatures – steamed lamb with chiles, garlic and cactus flowers or olive oil poached cod in habanero sauce). If the good food has stirred up an amorous mood, the recently redesigned atmosphere of the hotel will fuel it even more.

The superior room at the Casanova is modern and sexy

The package includes accommodations in the superior room, sleek quarters that boast silk bed coverings, chic chaises and suggestive translucent bathroom doors. But the sexy surroundings are not limited to the guestrooms. The hotel’s Stone Spa offers couples’ treatments in a courtyard garden cabana amid sand and fragrant flowers, and this fall Casanova will further entice with the introduction of a rooftop pool and lounge area complete with hammocks. If one taste of a Chef Brichs-inspired meal was not enough, he’s on-site providing Mexican-Mediterranean cuisine at Mexiterranée, the stylish hotel restaurant that changes aspects of its décor monthly to create unique dining experiences.

Hit the stylish Tribeca lounge for a cocktail

La Bouqeria Market Tour packages include two nights in the superior room, private market tour and cooking class, aperitif, full lunch with wine, buffet breakfasts, return airport transfers, a complimentary cocktail in the lobby bar and a Spanish cook book to spice it up back home. Rates for the package start at approximately $1,530 for two people, with extra nights from $378. Visit for reservation information.
