Breathtaking. Tranquil. Pure and Unassuming. Welcome to the Honua Spa at the Hotel Hana-Maui hotel.

Once you have managed to tear yourself away from the stunning views of the enchanting cliffs and the natural pools of Maui’s famed Hana Bay, the other delights of your time in Hana begins. With a staff that is both highly trained and incredibly gifted, the Honua spa boasts world-class treatments, tucked away in this private island get-away.

The goal at the spa is health. Physical, emotional, and mental health. In fact, the owners are in the process of building additional suites for guests to come and stay for extended periods of time. A sort of natural/holistic health rehabilitation center, if you will, and I don’t believe I’ve ever heard of a better concept.

The spa facilities range from the outdoor garden and jacuzzi area with little seating nooks and a stunning ocean view to the private treatment rooms that formerly were guest rooms. Treatments at the spa vary from traditional massage and facial to the signature Lomilomi, a powerful healing procedure involving long strokes and joint movement. The Aquatic Renewal massage is a progressive treatment that is performed in the Watsu pool; the results are intensely healing on both physical and spiritual levels.

For the less adventurous spa-goer, there are simple yet luxurious and relaxing experiences, such as a theraputic bath in one of the spa suites. Take your pick from the Hawaiian Rainforest bath to detoxify and cleanse congestion, the Seaweed Bath, to stimulate metabolism and ease sore muscles, or the signature Honua Bath for cleansing and centering not only your mind, but your entire being.

Whatever happens to be your choice at the Honua Spa, you are sure to be pleased beyond anything I could write here. The treatments provided by the technicians are among the best I have ever experienced. You might find yourself wanting to spend hours on end inside the treatment rooms, even in the middle of paradise.
