There’s always one…that special spirit you consider a close friend. For me? It’s flavored vodkas because there are endless variations and ways to drink this delicious liquor. Considering I am a seasoned veteran, here are some of my favorites, plus tips on how to imbibe and enjoy them.
First and foremost, if you want to flavor your own vodka from the classiest plastic handle your piggy bank can scrape together, then I suggest investing in the VodkaZinger and stocking up on Colorful Harvest Strawberries. You simply place the strawberries at the bottom of the zinger, twist, let sit for a few minutes or hours depending on how strong you want the flavor to be and voila – a classy, elevated, and au natural cocktail with minimal cash and effort. If you’re into inebriated cooking and DIY’ing then look no further than the Never Cook Sober Cookbook, a fun read with tons of recipes and cocktails to try under the influence.
If you’re looking for quality, pungently flavored vodka that will satiate your taste buds straight from the bottle — then I highly suggest Yazi Ginger Vodka, a mixture of sweet and spicy with a discreet kick that can be enjoyed on the rocks or with ginger ale.
Another great option is Little Black Dress Vodka which rings in at a mere 90 calories per 1.5 ounce serving for those watching their weight (cough, all of us, cough.) Pineapple honey is my flavor of choice.
Alternatively, there’s also Belvedere Lemon Tea comprised of 100% natural and additive-free ingredients that will make you feel like a Southern belle fanning herself on her porch. Vintners Grape Vodka has hints of strawberry shortcake, raspberry jam, and lemongrass that goes down easily with nothing but tonic water and dreams, and Hard Luck Candy Vodka is for those who prefer their vodka on the rocks. With flavors like Red Fish, Root Beer Barrel, Lemon Drop, and Orange Dream you’ll feel like a kid in a candy store. Hopefully with a valid ID, of course.
