This is a multiple answer question but we’ll go with “stomach”.
Newsflash: Men love to eat!
Thanksgiving is all about the feast, family, friends and football. This month, Metro Man takes a look at several products and menu options that will help you celebrate, be thankful and loosen a few notches on his belt.
A Toast!
Whet his appetite with a fresh cocktail.
Established in 1703, Mount Gay Rum offers their small batch, hand made Black Barrel. Matured in charred Bourbon oak barrels, this rum is spicy and robust with a flavor that is reminiscent of bourbon whiskey more than sweet rum. It’s also exceptional in concocting simple, classic cocktails.
The Black Key:
• 2 oz. Mount Gay Black Barrel Rum
• .5 oz. pure maple syrup
• 1 dash Angostura bitters
• 1 dash orange bitters
Stir all ingredients in a mixing glass without ice for 10-15 seconds. Add ice and stir again for 30-45 seconds. Strain into a rocks glass over a large piece of ice and garnish with a lemon peel and a maraschino cherry — the perfect drink to toast the cook, kin and kickoff. Bam!

Souped-up!
Guys love spicy in every sentiment of the word.
Estancia Wines from California are not only a great option for pairing with your Thanksgiving dinner. This year they have incorporated several of their wines into new recipes. Here’s my suggestion:
Moroccan Spiced Butternut Squash & Parsnip Soup with Harissa Pepitas.
The traditional American butternut squash (Massachusetts) meets African spices like coriander and cumin and balanced perfectly with Middle Eastern cinnamon and kosher sea salt. The parsnip is a native to Eurasia and the Pepitas add a textural element from Spanish and Latin America cuisine. Bring all of these items together and you have the epitome of the American melting pot.

Maille is one of the leading high-end condiment makers dating back to 1747. This season, their mustards are blending into every Thanksgiving recipe from soups & salad dressings to dessert. Following are my two picks:
A yam is a yam is a yam.
Trust me on this one. Guys just want the good ol’ russet potato. My preference is mashed and I suggest you add a few tablespoons of Maille’s Old Style Whole Grain Dijon Mustard. It will wake up the spuds with a hint of tanginess and add an extra kick.
If you are serving salad, Maille’s Dijon Originale helps create a full-flavored vinaigrette dressing. It’s simple to make, tasty and fresh. Click here for the recipe.
There is a reason why Maille’s has won so many culinary awards. Visit their website for more recipe ideas: http://maille.us/
I’m a traditionalist when it comes to the main course — it’s roasted turkey, end of story. Please don’t deep-fry Tom Turkey if you live in the city. Leave that for those with a spacious back yard and good homeowners’ insurance.
Here is a roasting kit that includes a brine and rub. Urban Accents’ Gourmet Gobbler creates the perfect, savory and juicy turkey every time.
All chefs know that brining is the key to making juicy poultry. This all-in-one kit includes a smoky peppercorn and herb rub that gives the turkey a rich flavor and a golden brown appearance. I tried it. It works!

I love pumpkin pie. Correction. I worship at the altar that happens to have a pumpkin pie. I look forward to a slice or twelve around this time of year. However, I recently discovered eCreamery. Oh my, what a twist on the traditional dessert.
eCreamery is an online ice cream & gelato company that delivers! You can customize your sweet, frozen treat to your liking; you choose from over 100 flavors. Amazing grace!
I ‘gobble gobbled’ their premium pumpkin ice cream with pralines. The cinnamon with caramel swirls and pecans came in a very close second. The only thing that this ice cream is missing is a shovel.
