Welcome to Movember! I like the idea of this concept to raise attention and funding to rid colon cancer, however, I’m still on the fence about males trying to look like lumberjacks when you live in Chelsea, Hell’s Kitchen or Williamsburg, etc.
This month, I put together a collection of scents, grooming products and skin care for men to look their very best. Following are several items to help gents approach the colder seasons with or without facial hair.
The company, When, has a popular line of products called Super When for Men offering many items to help guys step-up their grooming regimen. This month I suggest that you try their After Shave Soothing Star. For those not participating in facial hair fad of Movember, this skin toner made with witch hazel water and herbal extracts, sooths the skin.

True Grit from Jesse Jimz is a facial scrub for men to exfoliate all the dirt and grime from your face. I suggest that you use this product at least twice a week. This product not only removes the dirt, oil and dead skin from the epidermis but also preps the skin for a closer shave — it lives up to their claims. The Saving Face moisturizer / aftershave sooths the skin and helps to eliminate razor bumps.

For gents who like to use bar soap, this month I suggest purchasing Rawceuticals Raw Body Bar. It’s made with avocado and hemp seed oils, turmeric, cumin and shea butter. I gave it extra points for the fresh and masculine scent.

Shea Moisture offers several items for men to look their very best during no shave November. For men with a mustache, goatee or full-on hillbilly beard, I recommend their beard wash, beard conditioning oil beard balm. The latter helps to smooth, shape and sculpt facial hair. I am also a fan of their 4 in 1 all-over wash made with tea tree oil and shea butter.

Dry skin is very common during the change of seasons. I suffer from Eczema and Psoriasis and refuse to pharmaceutical drugs to pacify this annoying infliction. Instead, I prefer to use products like Caldera Lab – The Good. This multi-functional serum helps rid red patches on my scalp and elbows. It’s made in the USA from high-altitude Mountain West botanicals and 100% natural oils. It works.

This month I selected a name recognizable scent — Guess Seductive Homme Noir. I’ve learned over the years that many guys are intimidated when it comes to choosing a proper cologne. Always keep in mind that women have a stronger sense of smell than men. It’s always a good thing to keep a few bottles in the bath to splash on especially for date night. Noir has the top notes of black pepper, grapefruit and nutmeg; middle notes are apple, orange blossom and lavender; base notes are tonka, sandalwood and amber. A little sprits can go a long way.
