Smith & Cult Lip Lacquer in My Life in Photos is a universal, all season, milky pink that is super glossy and adds a sheer wash of color to the pucker. This will be my go-to for January, February… oh whatever. It will be my 2016 go-to. I can promise you that. Remember, this is the new lip gloss and nail polish line launched by Dineh Mohajer, the beauty and brains behind Hard Candy. She was In the Hot Seat with us recently!
Urban Decay intuitively knows what beauty mavens need and want. While the whole world was cooing and “oohing” and “aahing” over their holiday palettes, which are certainly worthy of such gushing, I was too busy falling in love with the 24/7 Waterline Eye Liners. I start every single day by applying liner to my inner, lower waterline and I often have to re-apply x 10 since the wet nature of the region causes liner to wear and fade. These? They last and last, essentially embedding themselves. Better yet, they are easy to take off with eye makeup remover.
Hydroxatone’s Skin Perfecting Air Cushion Compact is a new revolution in liquid foundation. It’s light, airy, and not watery at all. The BB Cream with SPF 40 is housed in a compact where you press the pad and the cushion pad dispenses the right portion of product for customized coverage. It can be a little messy and takes a sec to maneuver, but I used it with a Beauty Blender. It’s so light that it’s like wearing nothing and that’s what I loved most. I always want my face to feel naked when it comes to foundation coverage and that’s what happens here.
I love anything heart-shaped. I collected heart-shaped stuff just like Drew Barrymore does. #Really. So when Too Faced Love Flush Blush Wardrobe landed in my hands, with its heart-decorated, rectangular palette and its heart-shaped blush pans, it immediately went on my cheeks. Here’s the math: There are six universal shades that work with all skin tones and last for 16 hours. It’s like a blush tattoo and that’s pretty damn stellar.
Another thing I heart? Oh, just the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bon eye shadow palette. There are 16 shades in heart-shaped pans and the colors are infused with cocoa powder, which is anti-oxidant rich aka IT’S GOOD FOR YOU! It’s Too Faced’s answer to Urban Decay’s Naked palette range, which is a gold, errr, neutral standard. You get all the decadence of chocolate treats, minus the excess calories. The pink tin even smells like a box of chocolates… Forrest Gump-style. Luv, lurve, and love.
There’s nothing quite like a buttery lip balm that melts into your lips as soon as it touches them. That’s what happens with Soap and Paper Factory’s Mint Julep All Natural Lip Butter. The minute I dipped my digit into the circular, vintage tin and began swirling and then applied to my lip, it sank into my skin. It melted the minute it made contact with my body heat and it was a dream. Mmmm! The cool blast of tingly mint and the supreme moisturization makes this my new fave lip balm.
