Il Makiage is one of my fave new brands that I’ve discovered through Instagram and their savvy PR rep and I’m thankful for it. The brand’s offerings are similar to MAC and NARS — with matte black packaging and high quality products. Il Makiage’s Woke Up Like This Flawless Base Foundation quickly earned a slot in my morning rotation. Just a drop — or three — on a synthetic-haired foundation brush is all I need to even out my skin and to erase any blemishes or imperfections. WOLTFBF is as light as it is lush. The brand also boasts a shade finder on its site that is ace. Seriously, it works.
I was able to take the quick, algorithm-driven PowerMatch quiz, which selected a shade that was then shipped to me. Since I have a hard to match skin tone that can pull pink or yellow depending on how much sun I’ve gotten or general lighting, I was skeptical that an online quiz could actually get it right. But the Il Makiage Woke Up Like This shade I received turned out to be absolutely PERFECT for my skin tone. This streak-free liquid foundation gives me a clean, crisp, uniform, and matte finish face every time I reach for it… which is often. My face looks and feels fresh and bare when I use it. If you are ISO a foundation that will give you a “no makeup” makeup look for spring and summer, this is it.
