Support These Women-Owned Beauty Brands This International Women’s Day

This Sunday, March 8th, is International Women’s Day, a day reserved to celebrate the many cultural, social, economic, and political achievements of women across the globe. To help celebrate, we’re spotlighting two of our favorite beauty brands that are entirely created and run by women, Paula’s Choice, and Whish!

Paula’s Choice – Paula Begoun, Founder

Since 1985, Paula Begoun has prioritized transparency in the beauty community, particularly when it comes to which skincare products are of the most value to women and which do more harm than good. Paula is a fierce advocate for women and the author of twenty bestselling books on beauty. Her research-based skincare and makeup review website, regular appearances on talk shows and thousands of consumer requests inspired her to launch her own line of skincare products, Paula’s Choice Skincare, in 1995.

Paula’s Choice’s CLINICAL Niacinamide, 20% Treatment, is a vitamin B3 serum that noticeably fades acne scars and blotchiness, significantly reduces the appearance of sagging and stretched pores and improves bumpy or clogged skin damaged by the sun or age. Visit

Whish – Aimee Werner, Cofounder

Aimee Werner ran out of shaving cream one day, borrowed her husband’s imported foamless shaving cream, and was pleasantly surprised to find it far more effective than any shaving creams designed for women. Aimee and her husband were motivated to make a brand new line of shaving products that worked well, smelled lovely and replaced the nasty, dehydrating chemicals used in most drug store brands with organic and natural ingredients. Whish has expanded its product offerings to include a wide array of skincare and body care products.

Whish’s Lemongrass Shave Cream offers a gentle, smooth and foamless shave for everyone, regardless of gender. The shave cream is free from propellant, paraben, sulfate, DEA, TEA, petrochemicals and phthalate, and loaded with omega 3, organic shea butter, organic green tea, organic coconut oil and organic jojoba seed oil. The whip goes on thick and leaves your skin soft and moisturized. Find these at
