Bright lights, big city, you can’t beat New York City in November. From the weather to the festivities of the season, it’s a bustling, beautiful time for most of us. As a pro makeup artist, I get booked for lots of gigs for clients that are going to parties, galas, corporate events, or family focused get-togethers. What kind of makeup is best for this busy time of year? No matter where you live, It should be polished and refined, but have some va-va-voom. These five products will help you get there.

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Longwear Foundation: I love this foundation, due to the ease of use. Swipe onto the areas of the face in which you need or want the most coverage. Blend into clean skin with clean fingers or use a synthetic brush to buff the product into skin. Since the product is medium-to-full coverage, Teint Idole can be used as a foundation, for touch-ups, as a spot concealer, or even to contour. #MultiTasker!

Glo Minerals Contour Kit & Contour/Highlight Brush: This convenient contouring palette features four powder shades, which enhance features and create dimension. Your look can be soft and subtle or dramatic and chiseled. If you really want to go all out with your makeup for an event, you’ll definitely want to utilize this kit.

Glo Minerals Cream Stay Shadow Sticks: I am obsessed with these colors and the texture. The brand added four new shades this season, too. You can use them as liners, shadows, or as a base for powder products. Personally, I use them “as is” and blend into my lid with a synthetic brush or with clean fingers for a subtle wash of color.

Laura Mercier Brow Dimension: This is a new fave that easily allows me to build thicker, more sculpted, and totally lush brows. The mascara-like wand is designed to lengthen and shape precisely. If you have fine brow hairs that need additional volume or are dealing with unruly and thick brows, this will help you shape ‘em and tame ’em.

(Colors L to R – Infatuated Red, Pop Life, and Consuming Red)

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil: A matte lip is always sophisto. But a matte, red lip? That’s the ultimate in va-va-voom chic. Grab any of the NARS pencils in any of these “I’m ready to steal the night” red shades and enjoy pout perfection.

Clinique Lash Power Flutter-to-Full Mascara: This is Clinique’s custom-lash mascara lets you dial up or down for anything from a demure office look to a dramatic, “I’m ready for the night. Let the fluttering begin”. And it’ll last 24 hours….that is, if you do!
