Fragrances and the Celebs Who Love Them

Ever wonder which fragrances Madonna likes? Neither do I, but just for the fun of it, here’s a roundup of celebrities and the fragrances they have been said to prefer:

* Jennifer Garner , Madonna, Jennifer Morrison and Tatijana Patitz:
Perfect Veil by Creative Scentualization.
This fragrance was designed to smell like clean, nude skin, and is noted for being soft, subtle and extremely sexy. A blend of lemon, bergamot, musk, vanilla and sandalwood, this scent reveals something but retains a mystery, just as its name implies.

* Halle Berry, Rosanna and Patricia Arquette, Rebecca Romajin, Janice Dickenson, Shiva Rose and Stevie Nicks:
Black Gardenia oil
This perfume is akin to floating. It’s a mysterious blend of white blossoms with a soul of gardenia in a silky oil base, and it has a hint of something deep and dark as well. It comes on strong at first, and then it softens and warms and smells slightly dangerous. It’s both sweet and wild, like a wildcat, Billy Bob Thornton or a supermodel on a rampage.

* Cameron Diaz, Gwen Stefani, Oprah Winfrey, Nelly Furtado, Lindsay Lohan:
Monyette Paris fragrance oil
Creamy and over-the-top dramatically sexy, this is a blend of volumptuous Tahitian gardenia, island vanilla orchid and French muguet du bois paired with Nag Champa (a sweet, earthy vanilla scent found in incense burned in Tibetan monk temples during meditation). A heady concoction that will mesmerize and become addictive. Plus, it melts into your skin and lasts for hours. There’s no escaping this charmer.

*Jennifer Love Hewitt, Goldie Hawn, Madonna:
.Creed Tuberose Indiana
Sweet and sexy and elegant all bundled together in a fragrance – as Creed can do all too well. Picture an English garden filled with tuberose and fresh greens.

* Kate Hudson, Renee Zellweger, Brandy:
Thierry Mugler Angel
This perfume is for the woman who loves to shine — Angel has a powdery, shimmering, ethereal essence that will attract people who want to either touch, or remove, your halo.

Charlize Theron, Kristin Scott Thomas:
Christian Dior Eau de Dolce Vita
This is a sophisticated, “smart” scent that suggests you’ve seen the world — the best part of it, at any rate.

Kate Bosworth:
Chloe Collection 2005
Soft, feminine, tailored and unique, this is an ideal fragrance for day or night.

Sarah Michelle Gellar:
Creative Scentualization
This is for the woman who wants to forge her own identity, since each perfume is a blend of the wearer’s favorite scents.

Sofia Coppola, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell:
Frederic Malle
This line is for the innovative and creative, since it utilizes and blends unorthodox scents. This is the performance art of the perfume world.

Michelle Pfeiffer, Maria Shriver:
Acqua di Gio
A fragrance for the dreamy set, suggestive of water and delicate flowers and subtle suggestion.

Cameron Diaz, Faith Hill:
Clinique Happy
This is an uplifting, bracing, energizing infusion that celebrates the effervescence of life, much like it’s admirers.

Kate Moss and Sharon Stone:
Demeter Dirt
Earthy, bawdy, daring and invigorating. This scent takes up back to the days when making pies after a warm rain seemed perfectly reasonable.

Tyra Banks:
Demeter Cinnamon Bun
You’ll smell good enough to eat, of course, and this is what you’ll want at times.

Whitney Houston, Lisa Kudrow:
Bulgari pour Femme
An infusion of flowers for a bewitchingly feminine–but strong–and complex woman.

Mira Sorvino, Thora Birch:
Coco by Chanel
Classic, multi-layered, spicy and captivating. You can’t go wrong with Chanel.

Niclole Kidman, Tina Turner:
Annick Goutal Eau du Sud
Hopelessly divine, and where Provence meets Italy’s finest gardens. Verbena, mint, spices, and a symphony of citrus notes — this is fragrance that leaves behind a trail of grateful admirers.

Jamie-Lynn DiScala, Gabrielle Union, Taryn Manning:
This is the anti-perfume perfume, perfect for those people who want to smell as though they just stepped out of the shower. Fresh and always appropriate.

Catherine Deneuve:
Guerlain Chamade, L’Heure Bleu, Chanel 19 and Chanel 22
Needless to say, France’s style and beauty icon knows a good perfume when she smells it. All of her favorites are like great French wines and champagne, each superb in its own right.

Isabelle Adjani:
Caron En Avion and Creed Fantasia de Fleurs
Feminine, elegant and floral, these are both an exquisite, proven treat.

Edith Piaf:
Robert Piquet Bandit
A dark, leather fragrance for the unconventional, outstanding, trailblazing woman, much like Piaf herself.

Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Bianca Jagger, Terri Garr:
Greens, bergamot, anjelica, coriander, tarragon, a profusion of flowers at its heart, and base notes of vetitver, patchouli, amber, musk and civet. It will be fitting for our first female president.

And the endorsers:

Beyonce Knowles:
Tommy Hilfiger’s True Star
This is where contrasting florals meet toasted grains in a flirty, forthright blend.

Scarlett Johansson:
Calvin Klein’s Eternity Moment
Pomegranate and peony and lush, wild florals capture the feeling of falling head over heels in love.

Nicole Kidman:
Chanel No 5
The Rolls Royce of fragrances, and there are few people on the planet who don’t love it. This timeless floral will continue to endure long after upstarts have fizzled out.

Salma Hayek:
Avon’s Today, Tomorrow and Always
Surprisingly, these are bright, workday scents that do their job nicely.
