Cutting It: Hair-raising Comedy at Its Best

We saw it happen with hits like Absolutely Fabulous, The Office and countless other popular BBC series. Well ladies and gents, it’s happening again – only this time it includes backbiting, cheating and scandals. No, it’s not a British version of Desperate Housewives, it’s hair-cutting at its very best and worst! The popular BBC series CUTTING IT has crossed over to make its U.S. debut exclusively on WE: Woman’s Entertainment, July 6th at 9 PM Eastern.

CUTTING IT dramatizes the behind-the-scenes juice and corruption associated with the beauty world. This one-hour series from BBC Worldwide follows the lives (both personal and professional) of two ambitious stylists. The two become rival salon owners in Manchester, England where the competition sizzles when they discover they share a passion for more than just cuts and color.

The multi-character, 13 episode series, which originally debuted in the BBC in 2002, includes a fantastic cast and complex story lines that all take place in the tumultuous world of fashion and beauty. Stars include Sarah Parish (Blackpool) and Jason Merrells (Queer As Folk UK), who play husband and wife salon owners Allie Henshall and Gavin Ferraday. Amanda Holden plays the rival beauty shop owner Mia, and Ben Daniels plays the role of Mia’s husband and true love of Allie’s life. Lucy Gaskell stars as Allie’s daughter Ruby, who develops a questionable relationship with Gavin, Allie’s husband. Now that’s what I call a blunt cut!

Don’t worry if you missed out on a few shows, tune in Wednesday’s at 10 PM Eastern on Woman’s Entertainment to catch up on the latest gossip, catfights and downright scandalous behavior.
