Getting plumper, fuller, perfectly pouty lips isn’t as difficult as you might think. Hint: Lip care should be as ritualistic as any personal hygiene routine. With proper care, maintenance, and some simple makeup products, you too can have soft, full luscious lips. As a makeup artist who lives and works in one of the biggest cities in the world, NYC, I’m surprised to see so many women walking around with chapped, sub-par lips that aren’t “lipping” up to their potential.

If this problem plagues you, don’t despair. Making lips look fuller and healthier is simple.

Follow my simple tips for maximizing your pucker and you’ll soon have a plump, full pout lickity split, and in only a few easy steps. And you really don’t need to resort to plastic surgery, filler injections or any other artificial means get that much desired pouty pucker.

Here’s the first and most important step. Apply a moisturizing lip balm directly to your lips after brushing your teeth. This will lock in moisture from the get-go and you can avoid any drying or cracking. A stellar balm option comes from The Jojoba Company. Their 100% Natural Jojoba Lip Balm is vegan and it’s rich in nourishing ingredients, like jojoba, coconut oil, and Kakadu plum oil, the latter of which is native to Australia. It will make lips baby soft. Lots of moisture and a boost from balm provide the basis and foundation for kissable lips.

Applying a balm after brushing your teeth will help with instant oomph. But you’ll want to take things a step further. Blot any excess or remaining balm with a tissue. Then, swipe a layer of Dior Addict Lip Maximizer High Volume Lip Plumper. Use this magic formula to prime, smooth, and boost lip volume. You will be astonished at the result.
Bonus Tip: You can also apply it after lipstick for additional shine.

Another way to make lips appear fuller is by making effective use of lip liner. You cannot go wrong with a nude shade that is close to your own natural lip hue. However, if you’re planning to wear a lipstick shade not similar to your lip color, then be sure and use a liner close to the color lipstick you are wearing and enhance the lip line as needed.

Check out LORAC’s Alter Ego Lip Liners, which will immediately take your lips to full, healthy, and sexy territory. The liners are highly-pigmented, smudgeproof, and perfect for lining or filling in your lips. They also give your lipstick or gloss a base on which to adhere, so that it’ll last longer.

Once your lips are in good condition with balm, a plumper, and a liner, you can proceed to the next step: COLOR! Add your favorite lipstick, stain, or gloss, and proceed to pout the night away.
