2 Classic NYC Shows for Date Night, V-Day or Your Visitors

Whether you’re looking for a memorable way to entertain guests or a lively option for yourself for deep-freeze winter weekends, these two shows never fail to please:

Mamma Mia! on Broadway features Swedish super-group Abba’s timeless songbook, which will stick with you loooong after the show is over. This story of a wedding gone off the rails set on a tiny Greek island offers unexpected plot twists, singing spectacles, comedy, artful lighting and gorgeous sets. It’s just the right light-hearted fare to keep your spirits aloft when the temperatures dip to chilling lows.

The rollicking, hilarious Blue Man Group show never disappoints, and the show is always changed up a bit to keep it fresh for re-visiting periodically. Appropriate for everyone over the age of five, it features sight gags, music, drumming, light shows, audience interaction, skits, art creation, and the occasional messy materials that fly close to audience members (casual attire recommended as a result). The Blue Men are covered in gooey electric blue grease paint and are convincing as artful aliens that will completely blow your mind. If you don’t love this show, you must be at the wrong theater.
