Across the Grape Divide: Sixth Annual New York Wine Expo to Showcase Over 500 Selections

It’s that time of year again, gang. Cold outside, you haven’t accrued any vacation time yet, and you are dying for a great escape. Well, you may not be able to head for the Southern hemisphere but that doesn’t mean your palette can’t enjoy a tantalizing travel of taste – and the Sixth Annual New York Wine Expo can put it there. Attendees can imbibe wines from South Africa to South America, and Europe to the U.S., during the Grand Tasting taking place March 1-3 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center.

You can also enjoy some food for thought with a handful of special seminars conducted by industry experts (tickets purchased separately). Included in the lineup are “Wine 101: Taste Like a Pro with Wine Spectator’s Director of Education Gloria Maroti Frazee” (Friday, March 1st, 6:00pm, and Saturday, March 2nd, 11:30am); “The Cool Climate, World Class Wines of the Finger Lakes” (Saturday, March 2nd, Noon); and “Italian Cheeses and Wine with Lou DiPalo, the Cheese Guru of DiPalo’s Fine Foods in Little Italy, NYC” (Saturday, March 2, 2:30pm). David Venable, host of the hit QVC program “In the Kitchen with David,” will also be on hand for a Meet & Greet to share wine pairing ideas and reveal the latest and greatest in gourmet foods, cookware, kitchen gadgets, and cookbooks.
