Joseph DiMaggio, the lead hair stylist, went for a 50’s style inspired hair. On the shorter hair girls, they had a side swept look, but for the other models they went for ponytails with middle and side swept parts to keep it modern. DiMaggio says the ponytail makes the model more fun and “ready for action” with its playfulness. For makeup, models had either a bright blue eyeliner or white eyeliner, playing off the 50’s inspiration and trendy focus for the look.

The clothes mimicked the 50’s look with bright colors and a mix of pastels. Polka dots to cheetah print to sequins. There are no limits with Alice + Olivia designs. The designer, Stacey Bendet went down the row of the models lined up before the presentation fixing belts and “tidying” up the outfits. The meticulous planning of matching color from gloves to shows to belts was clearly evident in the color palette and sleek hair presentation. Bendet partnered with Magnum ice cream for her collection this season and created 2 miniskirts inspired by the delicious treat. The skirts named “classic” and “almond” sell for a retail price of $396, a reasonable price for the amount of sequins and embellishment put into the metallic skirt.
