M.A.C. Cosmetics lead makeup artist Val Garland was all about bold lips at Monique Lhuillier fashion show! Val was inspired by the bold, vibrant reds from the clothes. Garland wanted to pull off a “Devilish red lip” by achieving that she used cherry lip pencil, lady danger lipstick and topping it off with devil blush! Since the lips were the main focal point the M.A.C experts decided to go lightweight on the foundation, giving the skin a flawless, elegant but youthful glow. To achieve that flawless finish the first step was to contour the cheeks with M.A.C. naturally defined sculpting cream, then highlighting with Shell Sculpting cream. From there Garland moved to the eyes but didn’t use much. She used her favorite M.A.C. product on the eyes, light touch pressed pigment. For a simple yet elegant look, only the lashes were curled, no mascara and finished with a groomed brow. To apply this look at home use powder blushes instead of cream and a small angled blush brush and you’ll have glowing, defined skin in no time. For fall trends Val is expecting to see a surge of strict defined looks.
To finish the look, hair was inspired by Hollywood in the late 40’s and 50’s. By using all Kerastase products, they straightened the top of the hair then curled the ends and brushed them out, smoothing with hairspray to give a finger wave appearance. With the hair they didn’t want any volume, just sleek and soft waves to complement the feminine collection.
