Love our planet or are at least on decent terms with it? Plan on hanging out in Manhattan in late April? Well, you’re in luck, the nation’s largest green living event returns to the Javits Center on Earth Day Weekend, April 21-22. For a nominal fee you can enjoy everything from organic local food, to the beer and wine pavilion, DIY workshops, responsible investing talks and green business opportunities.
To put it bluntly, this is all your new years resolutions rolled into one, so why don’t you painlessly take the plunge and turn it into an enjoyable weekend? Additionally, fashion week is also arriving earlier than usual so you can catch the latest and greatest on the Green Festival Catwalk including:
Eileen Fisher: An Intersection of Sustainability and Design (Sunday April 22, Noon) The brands’ sustainable initiatives will be showcased at the Green Festival for a first hand look of this seasons’ timeless and on-trend looks.
– Recycled Runway Eco-Fashion Show (Saturday April 21, 4pm) Parsons New School for Design uses landfill bound materials and turns them into craveworthy ensembles.
The weekend long event will be held in the LEED-certified North Pavilion of the Jacob Javits Center. The Green Festival is the only “green” event that screens exhibitors for, “their commitment to sustainability, ecological balance and social justice using co-producer, Green America’s green business standards.”
So grab a glass of wine, enjoy some organic local food and make friend or two who will actually want to go bike riding in Central Park.
