Midtown NYC Eats: Simit and Smith Cafe, Your New Favorite Lunch Spot

CITYPULSE-SIMIT+SMITH 3.INSIDE

Simit + Smith opened a new location in Herald Square this week. The Istanbul style café and deli is known in New York for its freshly baked Simits, a hand-rolled Turkish crispy-but-light bread.

The stylish bakery will give Midtown New Yorkers looking for alternatives to bread-based sandwiches plenty to discover. Often served plain or with feta cheese and a slice of tomato, the Simits can also be served in sandwich form. My favorites include Turkish combos such as black olive paste, Kasseri cheese, salmon, chicken or roast beef.

Wholesome and local with no preservatives, this traditional Turkish delight is perfect for the globally thinking New Yorker curious about new cultures and eager for novelty. Determine your own favorite Simit combination and enjoy a cup of Turkish coffee or tea in a traditional Turlish glass cup.
