Discover Iceland In New York 

From September 11 to 15, 2019, experience Icelandic culture in New York with the return of Taste of Iceland. The five-day festival will offer a variety of events around the city, highlighting the best of Icelandic cuisine, music, literature, and film. This is a wonderful opportunity to discover the Nordic Island’s unique culture and lifestyle.

To launch the 5 day festival, Á Leiðinni Upp Ísland! (“Going Up Iceland!”) event will introduce New Yorkers to Iceland’s signature drink Brennivin on September 9 at VON, located at 3 Bleecker Street in Manhattan.  You will be able to enjoy specialty cocktails mixed with the Icelandic aquavit, Brennivín, and Opal Icelandic liqueur from 9pm to close.

A special tribute concert to the late Icelandic composer, Johann Johannsson will take place in Hudson, NY and feature the North American and US premiere performance of Vidulegu Forsetar, a major 70 minute work for brass ensemble, organ, piano, bass, and percussion.
