We are all getting cooped-up and fed-up with our very inconvenient but necessary quarantine. And many people are pining for some entertainment. Unfortunately Harlem Stage had to cancel their concert and fundraiser set for Monday, May 18th at 7:00 but we New Yorkers are a creative group of people and the show must go on. They will be staging the concert and broadcasting it via social media so everyone can watch it at home.
This year *Celebrating Harlem Stage* is hosted by award-wining Broadway, television and film star, LaChanze. She will hit the stage with some of the most influential and inspirational songs in the spirit of Harlem dating back to the jazz era.
Also hosting the show is producer, director and award-winning actor, Tamara Tunie (above). Rising Broadway actor, Celia Rose Gooding will also share the stage as host. The trio will be responding to live comments/questions throughout the performance.
The line-up includes some of today’s hottest musicians, performers and recording artists including Jason ‘Timbuktu’ Diakité (above), Bill T. Jones, Claire Danes, Fab 5 Freddy, Nona Hendryx and more.
The event can be viewed on Harlem Stage’s social media channels.
Here are their links to watch on Monday, May 18th at 7:00 pm: Facebook – Instagram.
