In addition to Wine Wednesday, January 11th is a particularly hot commodity for us here at Beauty News NYC as we are warming up this winter day via the best possible way – by toasting to National Hot Toddy Day.

That’s right gang, this classic cocktail traditionally consists of a shot of whiskey, teaspoon of honey, squeeze of lemon, and of course, some hot water. Now, the recipe varies depending on what you like and where you’re from. Sometimes brandy and rum are used, tea is included, or cloves, cinnamon and even nutmeg can be added. I usually opt for a bit of Jameson, and as of late, have been including manuka honey from New Zealand (chock full of fab antioxidants). But today we are going to highlight something a little different, a nice twist on this old fave, courtesy of Tequila REVOLUCION…This is bound to bring the heat and definitely clear up those stuffy sinuses…. Viva Mexico!!!

Amor Caliente
1.5 oz. Revolucion Blanco
.5 oz. Luxardo Amaretto
.5 oz. Orange Juice
.5 oz. Honey

Build ingredients in a glass of your choice. **We like an Irish coffee mug. Add 2.5 oz. of very hot water from the kettle. Stir. Add “horsesneck” long orange peel studded with dried cloves.
