Over at ADAM, on Saturday, September 10, 2011, designer Adam Lippes presented his collection at the Stage in Lincoln Center. Adam found his inspiration in the energy and atmosphere of the West Chelsea neighborhood surrounding the ADAM design studio. The passersby in bright colors and the fresh and light backdrop of the Highline were exhilarating and refreshing to the designer, just what spring should be. The ADAM girl is a confident woman who knows how to make a graceful and effortless statement.
The makeup at ADAM was done by Romy Soleimani of MAC, who created a very tonal, bare and beautiful look on the face. The look was nude and radiant, with shimmer and skin tone dimension. MAC’s Face and Body Foundation was spread in a sheer layer all over the face, and the cheeks were given a glow with MAC’s Pro Gloss/Crème Brilliance in Bronze and Sparkle Gold. The lips were swiped with a new Spring 2012 shade Innocence Beware, and the eyes were left bare.
The hair fit perfectly with the illuminated look on the face and the light and feminine clothes. The hair was done by Odile Gilbert of Kerastase. She treated the hair with Elixir Ultime, a blend of oils to make soft, healthy, and shiny hair. It was blow dried and tossed to give it a natural soft wave, and given a deep side part. Then one piece on either side of the head was pulled back and twisted to meet in the middle back, a secured with a clear tie. This created a very ethereal, beautiful, and relaxed look to go with the springy pieces.
The nails were done by nail professional Deborah Lippmann. To keep in tune with Adam’s vision, the nails were girly yet refined to capture the essence of the collection. The nails were shaped to be short and round for ultimate sophistication, and first painted with a base coat. Then the nails were painted with a layer of Naked, a very light, and natural, skin tone shade developed by Deborah. Over that, a layer of Diamonds and Pearls gave the nails an iridescent, fresh-water pearl finish. Deborah Lippmann creates the colors specifically for her brand.
