Three Cheers for these Red, White and Blue Cocktails!

This July 4th weekend – well heck, all summer long – shake up some of these Yankee Doodle cocktails and your guests will vote you the dandiest cocktail maker of them all. Three cheers for the red, white and blue!

Rocket’s Red Glare

1 part Sauza® Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
1 part frozen limeade
1 ½ parts light pomegranate juice (no sugar added)
1 part vanilla creme soda (or diet vanilla creme soda)
Cherry (for garnish)

Preparation: Combine limeade, pomegranate juice, tequila and vanilla creme soda in a glass filled with ice. Stir well to combine. Garnish with cherry.

White Frozen Firecracker

1 ½ parts Sauza® Blue Reposado 100% Agave Tequila
1 ½ parts frozen piña colada mix
1 ½ parts mango sorbet
2 parts ice
Coconut shavings for garnish (optional)
Pineapple slice for garnish (optional)

Preparation: In a blender, combine tequila, frozen piña colada mix, mango sorbet, and ice until smooth. Make it even prettier: Rim your cocktail glasses with coconut shavings and garnish with a pineapple slice. Serve immediately.

Blue Salute

1 part Sauza® Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
½ part DeKuyper® Blue Curacao
2 parts frozen lemonade
1 2?3 parts light beer
Cherries (for garnish)
Lime wedge (for garnish)

Preparation: Combine all ingredients in a glass filled with ice. Garnish with cherries and a lime wedge.

And when we say “garnish with cherries,” we don’t mean those chemically-laden neon red things that have been in your fridge since who knows when. High quality drinks deserve an equally high quality cherry (or three) to complement them. Try Stoneridge Orchards dried or frozen premium cherries. You’ll eat them by the handful. Go ahead, they’re healthy and delicious. Remember: Drink responsibly, but eat all the cherries you want.
