Thanks to Kol Design’s destination-scented bath lines, you can now saunter through the bazaars of Morocco or wander the pastures in Bethlehem from the luxurious bath you are about to step into.
The company offers four fragranced, non-gender-specific bath lines: Curacao, Picnic, Bethlehem, and El Maroc. Sally and Andrew Brunger have always been extensive travelers. The husband and wife team have created a unique concept where each line is meant to invoke the particular destination that it is named after. “Our scents are based on the places we’ve been and the memory of those destinations that we want to keep close to us”, explains Sally. For instance, Bethlehem teases the bather with rosemary, fig, and myrrh and allows the person to luxuriate in the natural treasures and spices of the Ancient World.
Next, you have their innovative Mix-Your-Own facials and scrubs: Kolyan, an Indian clay for deep facial cleansing; Noordhoek, a Kaolin clay from South Africa for a lighter treatment; Coltibueno, made from a mix of herbs common to Tuscany; Arenal, a powerful foot scrub of volcanic clay named after the volcano in Costa Rica. The last one actually fizzes and churns like lava when water is added to it! For customization, simply add other ingredients of choice like oils, pureed cucumber or floral waters. Kol is the only cosmetic line to offer such an option.
As for the non-gender-specific nature, Andrew defines it as democracy in bath products. “Men long for bath products that they feel comfortable buying in a store and that look appropriate in their bathroom when friends come to visit. We offer terrific scents in simple and attractive packaging that both men and women appreciate.” So much so that the 2004 Academy Awards attendees walked away with Kol bath products in their official gift bags for the event!
Not just will you be traveling places with Kol, your well-spent money, as well, will be going a long way, literally, to better the condition of children and women in far-away Afghanistan – to help rebuild their lives after decades of warfare and bloodshed. Kol donates up to 5% of its pre-tax earnings to charities providing sports equipment and new schools for children and training and education programs for women.
