NYFW S/S 2019: Mery Playa Swimwear at STYLE360

The Mery Playa swimwear collection is the brainchild of Brazilian model, Sofia Resing, and her collection debuted at NYFW STYLE360. As the models walked confidently down the runway, the message was clear that any woman can wear sexy swimwear. One of the most striking parts of this show was the diversity and inclusiveness of all body types on the runway.

For a swimwear collection it is so refreshing to see that any woman can look great in Mery Playa. No need to wear a skirted one piece swimsuit to hide your body. Go full throttle with these sexy designs from Mery Playa, and hit the beach with confidence. The collection was filled with fun, pastel shades of pink, blue and yellow, and incorporated accessories, like clear plastic belts, raincoats, visors and tall boots that were reminiscent of the 1960s. The models also bounced down the runway wearing Skechers D’Lites sneakers and neon colored, high topped socks.

The collection was accented by the retro hairstyles on many models. Hair for this show was provided by Not Your Mother’s hair care. Their team of hairstylists, lead by Michele Carrillo, helped to create the high ponytail looks for this show. Scrunchies were used to pull a high ponytail on the top of the head, leaving the rest of the hair down.

Makeup and skincare was provided by Twinmedix, a pharmaceutical grade skincare line featuring cutting edge skincare, and Embryolisse, a popular French skincare brand. The makeup accented the eyes with heavy liner and shadow consistent with the retro style of the show. Liner extended beyond the eye for a catlike effect.
