Vivienne Tam’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection evoked a walk in nature, with colorful prints of birds, flowers, landscape scenery and pagoda gardens. Tam was inspired by art from the Ming and Qing dynasties, which depict colorful scenes from nature. In keeping with this theme, the hair was natural and wet looking, as if the models had walked in the rain or mist. The feel of the show was also easy and calm, with the models wearing flat sandals instead of struggling to walk the runway in stilletos.
So, how can you create a naturally moist look with your hair? Lead hair stylist, Nick Irwin, CATWALK by TIGI Global Creative Director, created a sporty look that complimented Tam’s collection. Irwin began with a center part and applied CATWALK by TIGI Fast Fixx Style Prep and Strong Hold Mousse. He blow-dried the hair with a flat brush around the head so the roots were smooth. Then Irwin left the rest of the hair loose and textured. Finally, Irwin swept a couple of moist strands of hair to the side, across the forehead and behind the ear. The last touch was an application of CATWALK by TIGI Camera Ready.
The nails by Incoco were genius, and a highlight of the beauty finds backstage. Using real nail polish appliqués, the models had gorgeous peel off and stick on manicures in minutes, with no drying time. The shade used was called City Chic, a putty grey color that is natural and blends with anything. I am obsessed with these nail polish appliqués, and for only $7.99, you too can get a flawless manicure that lasts. Best of all, just use regular nail polish remover to take off the appliqués.
