Brand Assembly, a start-up, which provides infrastructure and guidance for emerging design talent, held fashion presentations at the YouTube Space New York, for six emerging designers, and coined it as “The New Class”. The idea behind this event was to provide up and coming designers with the opportunity to be a part of fashion week. YouTube Space NY has never held a fashion event, so “The New Class” presented an opportunity, on both sides, to merge the two industries.

The designers who presented their latest F/W 2015 collection included, Maria Dora, C.Keller, Caroline Constas, Nikki Chasin and Michelle Kim.

The collections were presented in two hour and a half periods displaying three designers at a time. Fashion guests, including retailers, press, bloggers, and VIP’s, leisurely walked through three YouTube Space studios to observe the intricately made clothing. During the presentations designers mingled with guests while sharing the inspiration for their collections with the media.

Each collection was unique, and carried a variety of inspiration from Caroline Consta’s “Black Diamond” and 1970’s jet set ski culture, to Hunter Bell’s inspiration from the Rolling Stones 1978 album “Some Girls’, and Maria Dora’s collections of knits inspired by Andy Warhol. C.Keller devoted her assortment to the daily commute, and called it “Amtrak Chic”, while Nikki Chasin presented playful textures in casual silhouettes and Michelle Kim showcased fun patterns, with a sophisticated edge.
